Done and done! It feels very nice to have this little thing out of the way! It started out today at 9am in Cedar Rapids, IA (KCID). This involves a quick 30min flight from my home base of KDBQ. Plane parked and secured I do some cramming since I'm about 30min early. Soon my examiner arived...he's a 72 year old gentleman; a real good guy. The oral lasted four hours and the flight portion a little over an hour and a half. Worst of all it was hot! I think the high was 91F, but the heat index was up around 100 and of course I was in khakis and a polo. The following is an outline of what we did: Fundamentals of Insctruction: Learning Process CFI Characteristics/Responsibilities Technical Subject Areas: Aeromedical Factors Review of our W&B FARs/Publications Logbook Entries/Endorsements Preflight Preperations: Certificates/Documents Quick review of Performance and systems Manuever Lesson: S-Turns Preflight Procedures: All done in the plane Airport Operations: Radio Communication Traffic Patterns Airport Lighting/Markings T/O, Landing, Go-Around: Crosswind Takeoff/Climb Shortfield Takeoff Croswind Landing Shortfield Landing Fundimentals of Flight: Straight/Level Level Turns Performance Maneuvers: Steep Turn Chandelle Ground Reference Maneuvers: S-Turns Eights on Pylon Slow flight, Stall, Spin: Slow flight (clean) Power off stall Secondary stall Basic instrument manuevers: Straight/Level Constant Airspeed Climb/Decent Turns to Heading Unusual Attitudes Emergency Procedures: Two failed engines during ground ref. maneuvers One failed engine to steep spiral during perf. maneuver Oil Pressure Annunciator light Transponder use Checklists Postflight Procedures Phew! I think I lost 10lb in the plane! I easily drank a gallon of water... Well...I'm going to bed now, maybe it'll sink in tomorrow that I'm a CFI. -Brett
