Well, this is my first blog entry on this site. A little nervous, considering no one here really knows me, but here goes anyway..

Been feeling kind of sad/in a slump lately, so have decided to try doing some proactive things to get myself 'normal' again. In general I'm a pretty happy person, try to keep positive, see life as a gift to be lived to the fullest. But lately I've been kind of down, feeling some disappointments in life, feeling confused. Also, I've been putting in just the CRAZIEST hours at my job in the last few months, am finally free in the evenings and weekends, finding myself again.
With all the extra overtime money I'd been making, I not only upgraded my camera to a Nikon D80, but also bought an HD camcorder. I've been doing photography for about a year now, taking this correspondence course through the New York Institute, and have been LOVING IT. Now lately I've been toying/playing around with video, which has been especially interesting/fun at the local airport! Just wish I had more free weekend time to spend during the daylight hours. By the time I get out of work, just struggling to get anything before the sun disappears completely. But have been getting in some practice, enjoying it quite a bit!
My friend Raschel and I have a flight planned coming up in the next few weeks. I've just made arrangements for an introductory flight through a small airport about forty-five minutes away. This is where I'd had my introductory lesson a few years back, but this time around Raschel will be getting the mini-lesson whilst I'm free to photograph to my heart's content. I CAN'T WAIT! Ever since I've started my class, bought a good camera, I've dreamed of going up to get some aerial shots, but it's just never panned out. FINALLY I'm getting it together, making the plans to make it happen. We are very psyched, to say the least! I'll be taking the Nikon, as well as the camcorder, so if I should be able to film anything worth looking at, I'll try and post it here! Woo!

Well, that's about it for one night. Again, GOOD to be here, hoping to connect with some other enthusiasts as well! :)
