I used to think that I know what love is, when everything was fine, and when I was surrounded by love.

Now, I just do not know what it is anymore.  When two peolpe get together with two different expectations, how do you balance both side's interests.  Because of love, one may decide to compromise, not expecting any favour in return.  Eventually, he realized what he has done is not appreciated or he has been taken for granted. All the heart and soul he has put in this relationship is all wasted. He is very badly hurt!

From my experiences, if only one is compromising, then "love" isn't mutual.  There needs to be a neutral ground and one must respect the other's interests or beliefs.  Anything that happens, good or bad, is not a waste.  Consider it a learning experience because in the future when "the one" comes along, you will recall your past experiences and improve on them in your new relationship.  Consider yourself saved, not hurt.  So, chin up!  There is something better in store for you...mark my words!
