The DCA is not the way to go, because they like to take your money and guarantee you nothing. For over 45 to 60 grand, depending on the training you want, you get little flight tranining, a ton of manuals and a type rating in an airplane you may not fly. Keep in mind you will not be a Captain for an airline you just joined and have little time. Only Captains need a type rating for the aircraft they fly, and the airline takes the bill for you when you are promoted! So why spend your money when the airline will do it for you?
Go to a college or just do it the slow way, through an FBO. Airlines rarely hire pilots without degrees in something now, so keep this in mind. Also, I don't know why anyone would want to fly for a bankrupt airline that has over 600 pilots on furlough.. (who are by the way ahead of you for a job..even after you paid that 60 grand!) I hope that helped you out some!

I KNEW of a dude that didnt go to college. He just went from and High school to DCA and I was like, arent you planning of flying the heavies? and he said "they are all bankrupt and arent hiring." and i was like to myself "big mistake" he is going to end up short of his dream. all he has in his pocket is a HS diploma. ppl are gonna hire college grads before HS grads. ya know, especially if companies are going bankrupt, and furloghing people. well ya. late.
